After reading The Cat in the Hat the Grade one students created very cute Cat In the Hat artworks. Fabulous work Artists.

 

After reading the story Mr. McGee and the Camping Spree the clever Grade three and four artists created the cutest camper vans. So sweet, superstars.

 

 

Today we met some more cats and dogs in our Year 5 and Year 6 zoom meeting. We met Queen Pearl, Barney, Ben, Roughie, Goldie, Rosie and many more. (I should have kept a list) Such lucky humans to share our lives with these sweet but often naughty creatures. Thank you to our wonderful Year 5 and 6 students, you created some joy today.

In the art room students have been learning about an Art Movement called “Fauves” a French word for ‘Wild Beasts’ the grade 3 and 4 artists created self portraits using bold blocks of colour. These look amazing 🤩

Grade 5 and 6  self portraits inspired by the story Wonder.
I love the simplicity of the portrait, the soft hues  of the water colour paint and the thoughtful and creative descriptive words.

In the Art room students listened to ‘The Dot’ by Phillip Reynolds. They discussed ways they can ‘Make a mark’ in the Art room and at a deeper level, making a mark in life. Such thoughtful and insightful discussions on choosing to be kind and always doing their best.
The display includes a dot from every student from 1-6. Prep B and 6 Blue students created Dotty paper for the letters. It looks amazing and is in the Great Space. Prep Y will create their dots next week.

Hamish Watt ‘Love is Everywhere’

Well done to these Grade Four artists who have learnt how to complete a few simple sewing stitches to create the sweetest mini wall hangings.
They  learnt some decorative stitches and how to sew a button on.

We are so happy to be in the art room using all the wonderful supplies.

Grade One students had so much fun today using a wonderful new product Paint Sticks. Beautiful, vibrant rainbows. Love, love, love these. Well done little artists.

 

 

Grade 4 students giving a  thumbs up as they enjoy the freedom of abstract art.

They used watercolour paint and once they had completed their work they gave it a title.
